Touch, Health, & Common Conditions
Part of the human experience – what we hold in common – are the challenges of coping with serious illness, living with long-term chronic conditions, and the process of aging and dying. Our lives will be touched by these experiences personally, in our circle of family and friends, and in the clients that we work with as massage therapists. These are times when touch can have a powerful impact on daily quality of life, and working with clients in these times can be deeply gratifying for practitioners. The Touch, Health, & Common Conditions track is designed to give you the tools to research and make decisions about safe practice and the modification of massage techniques to best serve your clients. You will also gain direct experience through field trips and in-class clinics, working under the supervision of experienced teachers with the populations we will be discussing in class.
