  • TYPE OF POSITION:
    • Employee
  • POSITION DETAILS:
    • “Inclusive Massage East Bay is looking for talented bodyworkers who are committed to social justice and are looking for a way to incorporate that into their massage practice. I started this business as a private practice and it has grown to the point that expansion is necessary in order to meet the growing demand for trauma-informed care.”
  • PAY/COMPENSATION DETAILS:
    • “Hourly wage of $15.06 plus a 10% commission from each massage you perform.
    • I consider a full day to be 8 hours: 6 hours of bodywork and 2 hours off non-bodywork duties (resetting rooms, tidying, collecting payment, booking clients, etc.). At normal session rates, the average daily sales per therapist total to $785.
    • Not including tips, an average full day’s gross pay would be $198.98 [(8 hours x $15.06) + (10% of $785)].
    • According to MIT’s living wage calculator, the daily gross pay needed in Alameda county is $193.28. You’d be earning more than that before tips.
    • Cost of living raises will be calculated each year. Commission percentage may increase over time. What we charge for massages will increase over time, which means your commission payments will too. If you’re working full time we can discuss a higher commission percentage or wage after a period of 3 months.”
