Adya Hospice is looking for volunteers to bring comfort and joy to our hospice patients. We serve patients in Solano, Sonoma, Napa, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties. Adya Care volunteers are integral to our hospice care team, offering comfort and companionship during a pivotal time in our patients’ lives. Each volunteer undergoes thorough screening and orientation, ensuring they embody the hospice philosophy of maximizing patient comfort and quality of life.
Our volunteers provide companionship and support, participating in team visits where they might read aloud, assist with crafts, facilitate outdoor excursions, accompany patients to meals, or help with correspondence. Some volunteers also contribute specialized skills like massage, music, or energy work, enriching the care we provide.
We need folks who would like to help us with any of these positions:
“patient volunteer” companionship with patients and family/friends
“office volunteer” help in our office
“music volunteer” provide music with instruments or singing to patients
“certified or licenced volunteer” massage therapists, acupuncturists, and cosmetologists
We are prioritizing folks who see themselves volunteering with us for at least 6 months and can commit to one shift per week.
This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community, learn, and grow. Hospice volunteers providing massage therapy must have their CAMTC in order to do body work on patients.
