VIRTUAL SESSIONS?!
Can a Virtual Massage be effective? Apps like Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime have allowed massage therapists to extend their reach into their clients’ homes without the need to get their hands on them. A massage session where you can’t physically touch your client requires a different approach to our assessment, communication, and our techniques.
The key to our success is in how we adapt to the situation. Lotion, a massage table, soothing music, and dimming the lights stop becoming the focus and are replaced with a good internet connection, a different kind of lighting, professional background, and what will substitute for a therapist’s hands. Although the focus might be different, the goal of making our clients feel better in their body is still the same.
Our world might be changing but the tension our clients feel in their bodies remains the same. That’s why it’s especially important that we learn how to remain effective with our clients without the need to get our hands on them. In this course, we’ll cover how to do virtual assessments, the key information you need to pick up on, and self-massage techniques to teach your clients.
