This course offers an in-depth exploration of the concept of unwinding. The term is used widely in many forms of massage and bodywork, and it is a particularly foundational principle in craniosacral therapy. There are many conceptual variations in the teaching of craniosacral therapy, and, therefore, some valuable variations on the theme of unwinding. Unwinding can be perceived at the fluid, soft tissue, or bone level, and it involves change at all levels simultaneously. It can encompass large body movements as well as tissue unwinding at the cellular level. The heart of unwinding lies in the ability of the practitioner to still self and perceive what is truly there. We will explore unwinding at all levels through experiential exercises, with the goal of deepening into the heart of craniosacral work.
